Think of it like this...
A friend visits your home town and asks for a "Chinese Restaurant." He's asking, and he'll visit based on your recommendations.
First, like google, your mind will scan for memories containing "Chinese Restaurant in Your City", which have you visited, driven past etc?
You'll filter out any irrelevant restaurants and irrelevant options such as "Chinese meals in the supermarket."
Similarly, when users ask questions, Google scans websites and filters the data until it has enough relevant content.
Second, like Google, you'll provide your friend with a list of Chinese restaurants in order of quality. You'll look for signs of quality such as, places you have enjoyed, restaurants with long queues outside, always busy, or a flood of positive social media content.
Equally, Google will take the content that appears relevant to the users' search term and rank it based on signals of quality and authority.
